Advice to writers
The main focus of the dedicated writer, as any devoted scribbler will tell you, is to figure out ways to keep from writing. Twitter is excellent for that, as I have found out in the past couple of months. While on Twitter yesterday I discovered the perfect thing. Copy and pasting and mouse-clicking, oh yeah! Doing a lot of it is so much like regular work (repetitive and boring) that it makes you feel really proud of yourself, even though it’s not writing, and not – alas however – a total waste of time. Can’t have everything.
Go to this blog site: First Issue. There you will find an enormous list of Twitter names for book industry insiders. Such things as Literary Agents; Booksellers; Book Publishers; Book Industry Publications; Author and Publisher Services, etc. Pretty much book everything. Over 700 Twitter names in all.
What I did was copy and paste the lists I was interested in into Word, to keep the links, and then followed 500 or so. Do the ones in your line o’ writing. Maybe somebody will notice your immortal tweets. Can’t hurt. Best thing is, you spent all that time fiddling around and didn’t write a word!
Always here to help,
LWIII
(thanks to @jennifertribe – maybe nonfiction writers ain’t so bad after all, somebody has to do some work around here)

Hey Laurie, thanks, glad you liked it. Have to say it’s not much like being on Twitter, unless you study the folks’ profile pages that you follow. Doing 500 of those babies left little time to watch what I was doing, because I was always going on to the next one.
xoxo!
Hey Twitter ABC, thanks for the linkback. Not sure how that works, but I’m glad to be in your database now.
Aloha,
