Julia Cameron

Just read the memoirs of Julia Cameron, revered author of The Artist’s Way, and have to comment. It was the strangest of many strange reads in my life. Long have I admired Julia Cameron, and still do, even after reading that dissonant autobiography, maybe even more now, regardless of her poor judgement on this one. […]

The Mindadventures

Got this new project going and have to share. It’s a continuation of the writer’s exercise I did with Sandra Jensen: each writer creates a character, then you start writing back and forth to each other as if those characters are really alive and corresponding. What they will talk about, or even be, is something […]

Quixel von Pixel

Photoshop is da bomb. Talk about easy art. Just google something you’re looking for, for your composition. Click on “Images”. Then go find somebody to rip off. What could be easier? Art without having to draw anything. All you have to do is lower your morals and you’re there! Just layer in whatever has stricken […]

New experimental fiction

Finally back in the saddle on the Mordant Misadventures, though they ain’t the MMs anymore. No name yet for the new bit with a new partner. May make another page for it, if I can figure out how. Big snow today. Wet and juicy. The dirt is slurpin’ it up. Go plants! Other than that, […]

Prayer

Never been much of a pray-er. Maybe because I never knew who I was praying to, and felt kind of sheephish down on my knees, sending tentative words up to who knows where. Like a poser. A spiritual wise guy: How much you gimme for God? Oh sure, there were lots of people who tried […]

Hug the world

Hugged a dolphin the other day. One of the most amazing feelings I’ve ever had. Don’t really know how to describe it, except it felt like I was hugging the whole world. For those few seconds I was blissfully happy, or maybe content is the word. I felt belonged. Squeak-squeak-eepy-eadle-peep! LWIII

Mistakes, boobie-doodles, or oopsies

Mistakes are weird. They come in families. First you make daddy mistake, then here comes mommy mistake, then they make babies. I noticed that mostly at work. Somebody makes a mistake (in my case that was often me) then, inexorably, that creates another mistake which is related to fixing the first mistake. Then that mistake […]

To Christine

She spoke to me of stones and oil and a mountainous isle over faraway seas. Her touch was Burmese lava rock: smooth, hot and oiled; her eyes a jungle green. Or maybe blue, or possibly brown or yellowish, perhaps grey. Not sure on the eye thing. In any case, her hands held hope and healing. […]
