The blizzard

Ol’ Man Winter, welcome home! We finally got some snow on the flatlands. A big white whirling wonderful wad of it. This has been the most unwinterlike winter season I ever spent in Colorado – generally a mild place to experience winter (unless you’re up in the mountains) but we do get some, and that’s all I ask.

Went out late this morning to run some errands and never got past heating up the car. That three-foot drift behind Old Betsy kept growing in my mind as I sat there. No doubt it will be much smaller tomorrow, so I’ll wait til then to borrow a shovel. At least let the wind die down.

Still need to get a swimsuit and warm-weather stuff – Madras bermuda shorts and some flip-flops, aloha shirt or two, pain medication. Heading to Disney World with my sisters and their families and my mom on Saturday for a week.

Never been to any Disney theme park before. Afraid I won’t fit in. Goofy will be there. What if I’m not goofy enough? And I know I’m not Snow White, other than my skin, nor dwarvish.

Sun is not my gig. The ancient yet still-stretchy Speedo is no longer serviceable. When I wear it you can’t tell I have anything on. Have to spread some flab just to show people I’m decent.

Oh okay, bit of an exaggeration, nor do I own a Speedo thank your lucky stars, but still wonder if I’ll fit in. Do they make SPF100 sunscreen?

Well, the thing now is to enjoy our snowscape and join the parched land in a big ol’ ahhh.

Snow birds rule,
